Whizzywig does not "generate code", it merely adds HTML markup. Can you provide a bit more info?

I am a little bit intrigued at the LOADS of code that is being generated on my page which contains just one textarea. I noticed that the page was loading very slow, and looked at the generated source (not just source). I saw that the three text buttons I had included had added 300 lines of code!! (mostly just table cells). This, in my opinion, is really slowing down my page load.

Can you please explain why there is so much code being added and if there are any plans to reduce it?
